Found a set of tongs at a yard sale stamped "Litho-paint Poster Company" "Finest in automotive displays" "Chicago"......any ideas?....i cant find any info online.
Thank you

Very common giveaway item tongs that were stamped with the store's advertising that gave them away. Value in the $1 or under range. Still useful to rearrange those charcoal briquets on the Weber or pick hotdogs off the grill. Not much of the wow factor for an advertising item.

so no big deal that the company went under in 1957?

Unfortunately, no.

Still a cool little piece of history, and fun to imagine what kind of life it had. It's just that not all old stuff has impressive monetary value. I have items over 200 years old that I paid less than $20 for.

I bought this piece for 10 cents

I'd say it was 10 cents well spent. :) If you keep it because you like it, it was worth it. If you sell it for a couple dollars, then you made a big profit. Win/win, in my opinion.
