I just received a reply to a question on shipping cost..............t ell me if this strikes you the same way it did me
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140539103184&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1147
My question:
"Dear mssweeney,
Could you please tell me the shipping cost to Nova Scotia, Canada B2T 1A8? Thank you. "
The answer I received:
"I have mo idea what shipping would be. i don't mean to be rude, but how would I know shipping rates to Canada?
Thnks for the inquiry but I'm no help.
M"

An interesting reply from a seller that supposedly ships worldwide. All they have to do, is box it, weigh it, measure it, and then give you a quote. Seems simple to me but maybe too much work for $20?
-
Right now I am so friggin tempted to reply........but best if I don't :-X
Honestly if you're going to offer worldwide shipping and it states under shipping and payments to contact seller for additional shipping costs and services......you'd think they would have some sort of clue.......if you don't want the bother then don't offer.
Think I'll go kick something instead (probably more productive)

Wow and with that many sells. I can even give you the rate from just looking at the posting. Guess lots of sells and no experience at it. Actually I find in most cases shipping to canada cost the same as Zone 8 in the united state. Which when you add shipping cost to a item that is what is charged. Yea I would reply back just as rude, what the heck, maybe next time they are ask they will be a bit more customer service friendly. Maybe you should Email them the link to First class International page ;)

ironlord made me do it!!! ::)
"I'm sorry. I just assumed from the listing stating Worldwide shipping and the instruction to contact seller regarding additional shipping costs and services, that this wouldn't be a problem. Most of the items I have bought came from the US and were sent USPS International, which can be calculated on their online site.
Hopefully this will help when the next out of country buyer requests a price on shipping."

lol I think that was a wonderful response. Very polite, but a smack in the face at the same time. :)

Now hosman, did you just call me a subtle bitch??
:D

It's ok, I must be one too because I would have sent the same reply. :)

Sometimes (not often) I have a hard time 'holding my tongue'.....but mamma brought me up to be a lady
Didn't help much though ;D

The older one gets, the less one has to hold it.

I wonder how much he charges for P&P to the UK? Perhaps I should enquire ;D ;D
-
LOL and I could send the following-
Good day my friend,
I am Mustafa Abdul. How much postage is to Libya?
(Good reply to the clueless seller!)
-
HAHAHA!!! We all should start emailing about shipping...
Lesson here, don't mess with forum friends ;D
-
Hmmm, still no reply ........ so I guess he's not interested in looking it up.
-
Even with direction he still seems to be lost! ;D ;D
-
Write back and tell him if he were reasonably intelligent he would have checked the "calculate" box when he listed the items !! Then smart people like you wouldn`t have to email him !! You could just look it up yourself !!
-
Now dearie , why not send him an 'email' letter of apology & delight that your item from him arrived in less than 4 hours after confirmation of payment & is a much higher quality item that's better than you could have ever dreamed of for such a low price .....
-
Darn, was so hoping I would have been his only 'sale' .
Guess someone who lives on the right side of the border hasn't 'met' him yet. ;)
