Title: 3 things found this morning - need some input - Salt & Pepper shaker
Post by: hudsonhacker on August 12, 2011, 11:51:21 am
Picked up a bunch stuff this am, 3 things i need some help with. WIll put them in separate threads to keep things straight.

My main interest is in not underpricing these things. I picked up a stupid amount of stuff for $35 to resell, but this is one I need some direction on; is it worth $1 or $100?

The piece is a set of brass Salt and Pepper shaker on a tray. Absolutely no marks on them, but the shape makes me feel they may be from the middle east (or maybe just from Pier 1!)

ANy ideas?

That Ebay listing does look very similar. Other than the decoration, the lip on the tray is more pronounced on the ebay listing. Actually makes me wonder if the one I have is an original and this is a more ornate copy???? Hey, one has to be optimistic!

I do not see any enameling on yours so think the value would be minimal. S&P sets have to be exceptional to sell and sell well.
