Hello, I'm new here :) I hope some one can help me with sort of a mystery. My boyfriend and I like to visit thrift stores to pick up household stuff on the cheap. While looking through some kitchenware, I found what I thought was a spatula, but was marked with Star Laundry Co. Dial 6179.
Just curious if anyone knows what it may be? There was a Star Laundry in Savannah GA, I'm guessing it came from there. No pictures yet but if needed I will find a way of posting one.
Hope someone can clue me in! :)

It might very well be a spatula, with advertising for the laundry imprinted on it. Back in the day local businesses did giveaways to encourage business. These are quite cool and collectable, looking forward to seeing it. I love kitchen gadgets, just ask these guys!

My Mom has knives made like that, might even have the spatula. That's definitely what it is.

I have a spatula like that.....well the 'working' part that is. My handle is plastic/bakelite? Used to be my mother's. Good marketing approach! Give her something she'll likely use several times a week and slap your business name right in the palm of her hand ;)
Does yours have a flexible 'blade' or is it quite firm? New ones I find terribly stiff but my old one will bend and curve making removal of fresh baked items easier.

Cool :) thanks for the replies! I picked it up thinking it was a spatula, only the laundry name confused me, lol. I thought it was a neat little trinket for 99 cents. It's found a place hanging
on kitchen wall. Thanks again to all who took a look :)

It works great to ice the sides of a double layer cake!

Totally forgot about that! It certainly does, without the gouging and pulling of the firm ones.

I was thinking the same thing !!
