Thanks for looking.

It is a very nice piece of history.  An up close/hands on exam would be needed for the condition if you have someone you could go see locally.

Unfortunately the market is a bit down for now...but hold on to it....the market will rally!

Thank you so much for sharing!

Hello,
I'm looking for information about my mahogany chair with a carved face on the back. There is a very faded Stomps-Burhardt Company label on bottom. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I did not see any markings that would indicate a date.  I just thought it was a neat item to have.

Star Brand Shoes were very popular from the start in 1898 until 1911 when it was merged to form The International Shoe Company.

This was a popular form of advertising putting the logo/information on "theater folding seats" which most likely was in a shoe store or department store with limited spacing so they had a pull down seat.  Do you know the origins of this chair?

Here is a set of three that have been for sale on 1st Dibs.

Yours is a bit more worn.  Are there any markings on the chair/wood/iron that indicate a date on them?

The blog you mentioned looks awesome, and I can’t wait to go through the list. I’ve seen The Beautiful mentioned before but never checked it out, so it’s going straight to my list. It’s so helpful to have a curated guide, especially with all the choices out there. I really appreciate you taking the time to recommend it! I’m excited to read more about the books and dive into a new series. I’ll definitely give it a try and let you know how it goes!

I know exactly what you mean! After reading Twilight, it can be tough to find something that captures that same mix of romance and mystery with a darker tone. Luckily, I came across this blog that has a fantastic list of vampire books for Twilight fans, which is exactly what you're looking for. The blog highlights a collection of books that not only have that dark, gothic atmosphere but also delve into more mature and complex themes. A couple of books that stood out to me were The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh and A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest. These books have that dark, romantic allure that you enjoy in Twilight, but with even more mystery and intrigue. The blog does a great job of breaking down the themes, so it's easy to see which ones might be the best fit for your taste. I’d definitely recommend giving the blog https://booksrun.com/blog/vampire-books-for-twilight-fans-dark-aesthetics/ a look—it’s a hidden gem for finding your next favorite read! If you do try any of the books, let me know how you like them!
