Does it still have crackers in it? Generally, tin containers are more valuable than cardboard ones, but it's in pretty good shape for old cardboard.
What's the other thing?
-
no the cracker box is empty, i guess the guy who built this house left the box and tin can in there after lunch and drywalled around it. lol i cant find a value for it any where, but the box was really well perserved, the tin can has no writing on it except the bottom that says "ESTAB. 22 3DXB G POTD" and it has some really nasty looking black stuff in it. haha
-
oh yeah, there was also an empty soft pack of paul mall cigs in there too.

The can looks like a tuna can !! I remember Spam having that type of opener !! There would be a key with it that had a slit in the end that went over the small end of the scored metal on the can and you just wound it up on the key !! Sardines also had that type !! If its the type I think it was !!
-
Well done, Mart! It's been so long since I'd seen one with the key that I forgot what it looked like after you opened the can!

its very very sharp, i don't think i would have feelt safe opening it. haha.
any idea if these items are worth keeping? selling? etc? i don't have any interest in stuff like this but if someone else out there did, what would somthing like this sell for?
-
CC,, It strange what you remember when you get older !! LOL
Lots of people like stuff like the cracker box but since the tin is missing the label,, it would not be too interesting !! But you have only pennies to lose if you try them on ebay !!

Reminds me of the movie "It's a Wonderful Life"
Bread so you never go hungry
Salt so you always have spice in you life
Wine so you are never thirsty
Etc....
Maybe it was put there for luck ;D

There are a kitchen collectors who buy old packaging on Ebay to display in their kitchens, but unless it turns out to be rare or unusual, they only go for a few dollars.
