Title: 1959 Ethan Allen furnature
Post by: Grant06 on November 26, 2011, 11:32:07 AM
Lost my mother two weeks ago and she left me some 1959 Ethan Allen furniture. This stuff must be worth something but don't know where to start in putting a value on these items. Sorry for the poor quality of these pics as I extracted them from a video camera.
Have one grandfather clock that is 6 1/2 feet tall. The dinning room table has three leafs with the original pad. Table length is 5 1/2 feet extending to 8 1/2 feet. The hutch is 6 feet wide and 6 feet tall.
Looks like a 4 pic limit per post so I'll add more in reply. Bedroom items as well.

Not sure what you would call this but it is a bar set with two sides that fold down.

Have two of these bedside tables with protective glass on top.

One dresser with mirror. Also has glass protected top.

This is Ethan Allen but it looks to be a later date.

So sorry for the loss of your mother !!  Ethan Allen is a good brand of furniture but these pieces may be difficult to sell except in a specialized market !!  Its saving grace is that most will go well in a retro, modern or minimalist setting !!  Its downfall is that its wood when many are going to painted surfaces !!  I can tell you approx what it would bring in my area but it could bring more or less where you are located !!
Dining table and hutch sold together approx. $450. TO $500. It has good clean lines and table can be expanded to seat a number of people !!
Drop leaf bar,,approx $75.
End tables,,approx $30. to $40. ea.  I  would say closer to 30 since it has more traditional pulls !!
Chest,,$100 to $125.
Dresser,,$75 to $100
Small storage cabinet $35. good thing is it can be used for video storage or a sewing cabinet ect !!
Clock is quite traditional and could be harder to sell but a fair price,, if its Ethan Allen too is about $300. !!  Other brands could be more !!
