Hi, :)
my nan owns this devaulx Napoleon III figure and we are trying to find out some information about it.

I was wondering if anyone might have any information about this at all as I have been looking but can not find anything. Is it valuable, what year was it made, what is it made of, who is Devaulx?
Thank you
Gemma

Ok, so I have continued looking and I think Devaulx is François-Théodore Devaulx.

Is that a screw in the back of his head???
Napoleon III has the unusual distinction of being both the last monarch and the first elected president, not in that order. He was elected in 1848, then led a coup d'etat in 1851 to become emperor. He was nephew of THE Napoleon.

If this is indeed an original bronze done by François-Théodore Devaulx value may be in the thousands. Send photos & any information to Sotheby's auction house (this can be done from their website) They have sold several originals by Davaulx for high prices and will return an email with an auction estimate if value is high enough for them to place at auction ( you do not have to sell your piece to contact them for an estimate). It may take several weeks for them to respond so be patient.
good luck let us know what happens :)
