I have been trying to find out any information on value of a Sands manufacturing co water heater. I think I have found out that the serial number tells me it was manufactured the 23rd week of 1912. I am getting a new furnace/boiler for efficiency. The sands water heater is still heating my 2 story farmhouse at least until next week. Below is what is on the manufactures tag:
Sands Manufacturing Co
Cleveland 27, oh
Model 100-s
Serial # 1223
type mixed gas
I will try to attach a picture. Any information or direction that I can look in would be greatly appreciated.

I would have no idea as to value, but if the tag shows a city postal zone code (such as "27"), that system came into use during WWII, and was used up until 1963.

I didn't know that. All I can come up with on the internet is the supreme court ruling on the labor sdispute between the company and the union. If it ends up having no value I plan on using it as a planter or something. I just have no idea which direction to look to find out if it does have any value. I personally find it amazing that it is still heating my house after that many years.

Back then what you purchased was meant to last !! Unlike todays big ticket items !! I have a toaster made in the fifties that still works perfectly but I have to buy a new coffee maker yearly !! And I don`t buy the cheap ones !! Money was hard to come by back then and the mfr`s got one shot at your business !! If the items didn`t last,, that customer did not buy from them again !!
