O.k. came accross this unusual item, and we are not sure what it is. it is 31" long and 4" Wide, the handle pulls back and forth a few inches, this causes a small piece of wood to come out the other end. also another piece of wood near the end slides back and forth. Here are the pics to maybe help describe the item, once again thanks from all of us here are goodwill.

Here are the pics of the working action

Last two are of the wood that slides back and forth.

It looks from the bolts, screw and crude iron attachments that it maybe late 1800's or early 1900's. What comes to mind right away is something that may be used by a carpenter. Perhaps it was used to lock onto another piece and used like a large wood plane. Or, maybe it was some type of large latch, fastener, chuck or lock-on type of device.
Just saw your additional photos.... Could also have been perhaps some type of brake attachment or equipment relay but that handle almost looks like some kind of old wood working tool handle.

Ok, while I'm still thinking about it here's a couple more ideas. How about an attachment to home made shaker slough box for mining gold. Or perhaps an attachment of some type for a washboard?

It's a wooden corn planter.
Here's an example: http://www.connerprairie.org/Learn-And-Do/Indiana-History/Artifacts-And-Collections/Argricultural-Tools.aspx (http://www.connerprairie.org/Learn-And-Do/Indiana-History/Artifacts-And-Collections/Argricultural-Tools.aspx)
