Title: Cast Iron Chairs
Post by: lafgraphics on February 14, 2012, 08:14:59 AM
I have six matching cast iron chairs. I have done some research on the internet but can't find anything similar. The only history I have is that my Grandfather had them originally in Kansas during the late 1950's. Other than that, I have no idea of their age or value. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

That's an unique design that I haven't seen before. It almost looks as if it could have been designed for Kansas, with the harvesting scene.
Have you tried the Kansas State Historical Society? Also, there's a foundry in Coffeyville, KS that's been in operation since the early 1900's. They might have some insight on whether or not the chairs could have been regionally produced at one time. Good Luck.
