Title: BURLEIGH WARE

JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME SOME INPUT ON A PIECE OR BURLEIGH WARE - BURGESS & LEIGHT DATE 1851 BURSLEMO ENGLAND. IT IS ABOUT 8 INCHES LONG & 4 INCHES WIDE. IT IS PAINTED WITH PHEASANTS ON IT. PLEASE HELP THANKS JANET

Hi........Burgess and Leigh........Englis h ceramics, operated the Hill Pottery, c. 1867-69; Middleport Pottery circa 1889 in Staffordshire district. "Burleigh ware" is in their printed mark from the 1930's. Initials B & L are found on many printed or impressed marks of different design.
