This is really cool but not sure if there is a market for it. Its a Zippo lighter-still works, and it reads 50th Anniversary-The Harrison Paint & Varnish Company, Canton, Ohio. now I did find that the company opened up in 1911 so that's how I dated it 1961. Any clues on this one?

It would be a 1982-1983 since the company was founded in 1932 and the first lighter produced was in 1933. Are there any codes or numbers on the bottom? Sometimes you can date them with that.

Correct me if I'm wrong , but I think kathyp1039 was making a ref to the Harrison company , not the Zippo company .
Sounds like you've nailed the date o.k. , kathyp1039 ... wish I could tell you more about Zippo value & such , but am a complete dummy on that topic !

I found a guide which is dating it 1959-61,after finally going half blind trying to see the dots on the bottom of the lighter! Why must I keep finding stuff I know nothing about! Call me a fool-but I just sent an email to the paint company in the hopes someone knows something about it!

Good Luck !!
