Title: a rare 1950 s Lamp ?

I bought this lamp and suspect to have been stupid. The market seller assured me that:
- he did not repaint it (the color appears to be a little flaky and uneven)
- that it is genuine 1950s apart from the switches which he renewed.
- that it is not a lamp one often finds.

What do you think ? How rare is it ? Where was it made ?

Any advice appreciated !

Although its kind of an odd shape,, so were hundreds of other desk lamps of that time !!  Without a makers name on it or some way to identify it,, its just a desk lamp !!  But,,Mid Century Modern is pretty hot right now so if your plan is to sell it,, and you got it at a good price,, you should do ok !!
