Title: Can anyone help me identify this painting?
Post by: JeanneCurt on March 15, 2012, 06:52:53 PM
I purchased this painting at an estate sale and wondered if anyone knew anything about it.  It looks like a lady had a baby and the other women are taking care of her.  It has an Oriental look to it.  It is about 8" X 13" and looks like it could be a watercolor.

Thanks so much for any help.

I can`t get both pics to come up so all I can see is the top one !! I am thinking not watercolors but perhaps inks !! You may need to take it out of the frame and see if anything is on back !!  If you can take a closeup of the area with the woman and the person behind her with a bit of the background tomorrow in good light and post it I can see it a bit better !! Keep it about the same size so I can enlarge it !!  It appears to be Japanese and could be either a family piece in remembrance of a birth or a symbolic piece !! Will look more tomorrow !!
