I have a children's pan that says made in Italy on the bottom. It is too light to get a pic of that. But here is what the pan looks like. I believe it is from the 1950's. Does anyone know anymore on this topic? I haven't a clue and I am really interested.

Have come across a few references to pots and pans attributed to them with dates of 50's and 60's.

I think you are right! However, my pan is not only more beat up but I think it might be earlier...maybe early 1950's or late 1940's?

Are you sure this is a child's toy and not a small sauce pan?

I don't know anything for sure but it is pretty small and was used with other kitchen play toys...sort of like a hodge podge mix. I have two cups and a creamer and everything to match along with a small teapot without a lid but the pan is only one that is marked with Made in Italy.
Everything was much smaller back when so you might be right. And if that is the case I still have no clue then!

If it had a pour spout I might say a butter warmer ( indirect heat ) !! Might be easier to go by weight,,extremely light weight would likely be a childs set since not intended to be put on heat/fire. Heavier weight where that might be possible would be likely small saucepan !! But would have to be at least heavy enough to not burn food easily !!
