Title: Another Hummel Question
Post by: kathyp1039 on April 07, 2012, 03:29:20 PM
Do split bases raise value? I have my eye on #23/III "Adoration" its a TMK 5 and has a split base and its the 9 inch one-not the smaller one. Problem is-its filthy! And has a broken steeple-Would it really be worth me spending $55 on it-honest opinions please! You can't see the broken steeple from the front of the piece, but just because i'm dumb enough to be thinking of buying it-should I think other people would if I can fix and clean it up good enough? Thanks ahead of time!

In my years of having Hummels in the shop for sale, damage in any form usually was a kiss of death. Cleaning them isn't too difficult...but repairing is a different story.
