Title: Vintage Hand Made Mexican Folk Art Doll?
Post by: KevinM on April 12, 2012, 07:43:40 AM
I purchased this Vintage Hand Made Mexican Folk Art Doll from the thrift store a few weeks ago and have not been able to find another one like her through internet searches.

The Doll is about 9 1/2 Inches in Height and is mostly hand made although the shoes seem to be made out of molded plastic or something else and the head may be molded plastic or hand made (I'm not sure). The main framing or core of the Doll is made of thick metal bendable wire.

Does anyone know where exactly in Mexico it was made, who made it, the vintage (I think around the 60's), what the name or type of this Doll is and perhaps a ball park value?

Thanks!
Kevin

I have no clue !!  But dolls like this and similar have been made for years and are still being made and sold along border towns !!  Although not many are brave enough to cross the border anymore due to the drug cartels !!
