Check your book shelves folks, it looks like 1942 first editions of those Little Golden Books we all grew up with can sell for over $100! Keep an eye out for these at garage sales.

Off the top of my head I know I have old copies of the Pokey Little Puppy, the Animals of Farmer Jones and the Saggy Baggy Elephant. I will have to check the publication dates. I got all of these in a huge bag of books at a garage sale when my son was little in the late 1980's. They came from a preschool that had closed and there are quite a few that date to the 1940's, so I'll see if I have any good ones.

I have a lot of the books, but not the 1940's. I was born in 1960. I have already looked, lol I was wondering should I check my Sesame Street books?

I am not surprised at the value because the survival rate must have been low. They were not very strong and read over and over.
