I traveled to Afghanistan recently and purchased an old handwritten koran. The cover of the koran is ripped and a few pages from both ends are missing. A friend of mine whom has a PHD in Archeology from Greece to me it is worth perhaps between $2000 and $10000 assuming I can find the right buyer for it. He said it appears to be approximately 200 years old. He also said he is not an appraiser. I need to get this old koran appraised and would appreciate any insight.
