Title: Antique Astor flute & Rand wooden box help
Post by: brickharbor on June 14, 2012, 04:44:23 PM
I have an Astor London wooden/ivory flute and a RAND wooden box...

I can't find any information what so ever about these two things after hours and hours of searching.

Any information / valuations would be amazing!

Cheers.

I'm curious to know if the wooden 'box' with "RAND" caved upon it is the case for your cool little flute , brickharbor ?

... if so , I'd give a solid guess that 'rand' was an identifier of a former owner of the instrument , esp since the carving  'appears' as it does (somewhat primitive/off-center hand carving) ... perhaps a 'school' logo/crest/etc. ....
