Title: Van Husen Button on Collars, lol
Post by: greenacres on June 17, 2012, 08:52:47 AM
There were a bunch of these collars and a bow tie in a armoir. The armoir is on the 4th floor. That we need some help with, lol Why was this all left behind? I don't understand.

Well if you were in Philadelphia I would invite you. My husband laughs at me. I'm real excited about privies. I have to find them first. This house had balcanies with no nails. They used dowels. I'll have to take pictures. The fireplace is amazing. They will start work in 3 weeks.

I'm going to the house this weekend. It's 40 min. from where I live. It's easier for him on the weekends because he's busy. The house is more "Old City Philadelphia". It still has gas lighting!

With everything by same company,, and the way the collars are tailored,, I bet the person that left them was possibly a hotel doorman or something similar where uniforms were necessary !!  A starched white collar would have been a necessary piece of apparel for a doorman !!

Interesting thought! I just sent pictures of the ledgers to a museum today to see if I can piece somethings together. Although there seems to be to eras in the house.
