Title: Flea Market Find
Post by: donbruce on June 23, 2012, 04:50:52 PM
Hello everyone, I found this item at a flea market recently. I believe it is an old tin (maybe?) toy scale. There are no visible markings anywhere on the item so I am not having much luck locating information. Any of you gurus able to identify this piece and provide a possible value? Please excuse the poor image quality as I took them with my phone. I can take better pictures if it is required. I appreciate any feedback in advance!

It may be a salesman's sample.

It may be a salesman's sample.

The thought of it possibly being a salesman's sample never crossed my mind. Thank you for your input! Now, to do more digging...

I haven`t been able to find anything similar !! I wonder if it actually does something when the base is pressed !!  There some odd openings in back !!

There is tension when the base is pressed, but the dial no longer moves. I believe the dial became internally disconnected over time because the back of the dial has grooves on it like it should be attached to something.
