Hey,
So my wife and I have recently been hitting hard times with bills and what not and are looking for some ways to get some extra cash togeather.
Her father gave her a lamp...if the post works it should be in the post, anyways its a em and co and has the date 1907 stamped on it, were pretty sure its legit because he got it from his parents that died in 1950 and they were 90.....so its pretty probable that were the third owners of this thing. anyway i type in em and co cherub lamp and come up with designs only of short chubby cherubs, this figure is more fairy like im thinking. any advice?

Quick reply on my phone :) I looked for EM & Co figural lamp.
I found this one on eBay: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem;PdsSession=213e932c1380a0276c525802fffb6552?itemId=251089686534&index=3&nav=SEARCH&nid=64978558342
And this: http://lampsaler.com/rare-antique-e-m-co-miller-figural-gas-lamp-light-wcranberry-etched-shade
Hope that gives you somewhere to start!
By the way, if the links don't work, just copy/paste...I hate trying to do this on a phone haha!

wow! those are near identical aside from being gas.....Thanks!

Edward Miller and Company is most likely the company. 1907 is most likely an identification number.
They made so many kinds of lamps you may not find one exactly like yours.
Word of caution: There were lots of copy-cats made by companies that desired the sales that EM & Co made during the time of kerosene lamps.
Can you post a pic of the EM & Co?
They did take lamps that were previously gas in design and later made them in electric.

Kc, i cant right now seeing as i am at work, i wil take a pic tonight and post when i get back to work tomorrow!.....no internet at home and im not sure how this site with work on my smartphone.

if it helps any, even the light sockets themselves have miller (or something to that effect im doing this from memory) stamped on them.

Base of the lamp
-
Do you have the shades for this lamp ??
-
no, it caught fire years back.....and the base was all that was salvaged.
-
Do you remember what they looked like ??
-
Believe it was a singe shade Mart.
-
Thanks KC,, Didn`t look close enough !! Thought it was two offset glass shades, but I guess thats a finial at top ?
-
Yepper!
-
do not remeber the shade, im pretty sure it was in the fire and burned even before my father was born, im 28.
Does the base look authentic?
is there any value here?

Its difficult to tell how much damage the fire/smoke did !! But I think if it was listed on ebay with good pics and reasonable starting price it might do pretty well !! No huge money but whatever it brings,, is more than you had before !!
