Hi there! Im wondering if anyone can give me any pricing on this sculpture I have. It is marked "(c)'98 by Eli Harvey" & "cottonwood". I did research and everything makes sense and appears to be authentic. However, I am having trouble figuring out a real value for it...

I see a standing bear that sold for just under 1000.00 and other pieces that were over 5000.00 all the way up to 17,000 in 2005. I would say around 1500.00 to 2000.00 would be a good guess but it is only a guess. Take it to a fine art auction house and see what they say

Auction house would say probably a couple hundred unless it was created by a famous artist, other then that dosent look like anything very special.

Eli Harvey is a famous sculptor/painter. If you research him you will see that. Considering it was made in Paris in 1898 and considering the fact that most of his work is in museums; I would say it is something pretty special. But Im not an expert - which is why I am here! frogpatch - thanks for your info I really appreciate it. I guess I will have to find an art auction house near me to see what they say.

Would be best to do as Frogpatch recommended and take it to a reputable auction house !! Not one of the small local ones !! They would be able to get the best price for the sculpture even with their commission !!

Cool piece! Let us know how it appraises.
