Hello all,
I have searched high and low for any info on this piece (year range, maker, value, etc) and I have come up empty. I am hoping some of the seasoned eyes on this forum can help. The bottom just says Made in England then what I assume is the year is carved in as 18*1. The 3rd number is not readable. It is about 6 inches tall, 8 inches wide. So of course, I have no idea. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Hello, I am so sorry for the delay. I have been working long days. Anyway, I have taken more pics with my phone. The item measured from head to head on the piece is 9 inches, depth is 6.5 inches.

We have a number of jardinierres/planters without drains, so I'll stick with planter. Very nice! I'll take it!! ;D
-
Shame on you Ghopper !! Drowning your plants !! LOL You can see cone marks on the bottom so it is probably pottery and it is likely a planter/ jardeniere !! Decorative for mantles or table centerpiece in foyer !!
-
"Drowning plants."
Guilty. It makes for more botanical variety around the house. ;)
-
thanks everyone. I was thinking planter too but wasn't sure. Any ideas on that year? And value? Thanks

I don`t see anything that makes me think its very old I would say before 1950 but its impossible to get closer than that without seeing it in person !! 126 would be the mold number, made in England,, could be by any of the potteries there !! And there were many !! As far as value,, I would say between $30. and $40. !!

Thank you for your post. I know the pictures are terrible but the number on it actually says 19 (and then the 3rd number I cant make out)6. 19*6
-
Yeah, something like $40-$50. Nice one!!
-
Wouldn`t make much difference what the numbers are,, only rarely are dates used !! Companies used style number, mold number ect !! Remember these were made in lots,, not individual pieces and were to be sold !! So if someone wanted to buy say,, 5 of one style they had to have a way to identify that particular style or mold !!
