Title: Hand signed Ardalt (Italy)
Post by: mdrussell on October 23, 2004, 08:12:23 PM
I have two 17" hand painted figurines hand signed Ardalt Italy #5264 A & B.  They look to be authentic and in mint condition. Who or where would you recommend I get them appraised?

There is very little on the Web for figurines made in Ardalt, Italy.  There is also a line of figurines labeled Ardalt Lenwile (sp?) made in Japan.  Yours is Italian and I honestly don't know if there is a connection.  I suspect not.  If the pieces were mine, I would try & find an antiques dealer who has ceramics from the capodimonte area of Italy.  There are pieces labeled with the crowned N, as Capodimonte.  But there's considerable other pottery/porcelain made in the area in "the manner of".    KB
