Title: Silver work. Additional info needed.
Post by: Henri on August 06, 2012, 12:22:54 PM
Does anyone has an idea what this was for? And from which time and where?

It looks like there is a glass or some pottery is missing.

Maybe for chocolates?

Good guess. I imagine that it had a glass liner, probably cobalt blue or deep red.

I'd say a candy dish, depending on the size. It looks to be art nouveau, ca. 1900.

I believe its a plated bon bon dish and should have a green glass liner if you look very close there should be a tiny mark for Wuttenburg (W.M.F) value £15-25  with liner £120  dating from 1900-15  regards Martin

That is a beautiful piece! I can only imagine, how well a glass liner would set it off! Thanks for sharing =)

Glass liners can be found on e-bay, just be very careful of your measurements!
