I have a really nice Apex No. 2 wooden 8 arm drying rack - wall hung. I see a number of these have sold on ebay for various prices and some that look in horrible shape are getting bid on. Some of the sold racks I have seen have ranged in price from $20 or so to over $100 especially for the 8 arm ones.
Wondering if anyone could tell me approximate age and would anyone have an idea where to start the bidding?
Yes all arms work but I could not get the darn thing to stand up open so I haven't gotten a good shot of that yet.

And what would we be drying ?? Socks ??
-
LOL no actually the arms are 27" long. They seem to be a bit popular right now - just trying to figure out if this one might be one of the more "popular" ones LOL
-
What are they used for ?? I can see maybe an herb drying rack or something !!
-
They were definitely used for clothes. Let me see if I can find a few links for comparison - will post when I find them ;)

You can find them listed in Kitchen Collectibles.
They were hung on the wall in close proximately to the wood/coal cooking stoves .... or overtop of a heating stove and were used for drying everything from socks, gloves, dishtowels, diapers, etc. etc.
They were mighty handy for wintertime use.

Just a follow up - so I decided to list on ebay - went mid range and started at $49.95. It ended last night at a final price of $91.00. I am pretty pleased 8)

Awesome!

That was a nice item, both decorative and functional.
And if you have a "country kitchen" it is a "must have" item.

Thanks everyone - yes it was in really good shape too considering some of the ones I have seen listed and being bid on. Wouldn't mind finding a few more of these :o
