Haha In upstate (anywhere north of NYC) NY, people go "alley hopping"  Amazing items that are thrown out in trash around here - just sitting out there in the alleys for grabs.  Crazy.

Yes I know,..but in this instance.like the tootsie bottle, i asked the person who was dumping it...before it went into the skip,....but i have in the past had a few near misses...like when i,d asked the council worker...if i could go into the skip to retrieve an item,he said ok.. i went in..then a black bag full of used cat litter, nearly hit me on the head...and an old lady exclaimed..Oh! i,m sorry I did,nt see you in there,

Oh yuck - well just for the record - I don't dumpster dive  LOL  but have driven the alleys on the way to or from work and found all types of neat things.

I posted the told painted platter the other day that my friend had?  She found that in a box in the alley and was going to put it in the yard sale for $1 - just never know.
