I just bought this dresser. I am not concerned about the value more than general information and era of the piece. I did pay $90 for anyone curious. Since than i have invested in another dresser not as nice but very unique in my opinion.

i can`t enlarge the pic !! can you post a bit larger one ?
-
I hope this works..It seems like im getting shrinkage when i attach the file. The original file is a 1.7mb file
-
use your photo program to work the pic before you attach it,, size it to 1000 to 2000kb !! or anywhere in between !!
-
I upped it 1280
-
I just made a photobucket account.. my user name is xjeep25. I hope this helps. Sorry for the frustration.

that pic was perfect !! looks to be a nice little empire revival chest !! i would bet its veneered !! shows quality
with the book matched drawer fronts !! probably burl walnut with some lighter woods for accent !! you paid about the right amount for it !! value would be $100. to $125. !! nice buy !!

Definitely a lovely, well crafted piece. The wood is stunning. Would you say the rollers were original to the piece? Are they metal or wood, on all four legs? Also, could you post pics of the construction methods? Dovetails, joints, visible nails? This would all help members to date for you.
BTW, welcome to the forum!! ;)

looks 50s to me value in UK around £100 probably part plywood and veneer
-
I would say 1920s-30s, otherwise it's pretty much as Mart described. Very nice piece, probably part of a bigger bedroom set. A bargain for what you paid for it.
Good job!
-
right !! late 20`s or 30`s !! forgot to add that info !! working with one hand isn`t fun !!
-
I agree with Ghopper and Mart. Nice piece and very undervalued in my opinion. Try to buy a new one and it will cost you 800.00 or more and will not have that nice veneer work.

..Here,s what you do....get your hubby,to hold the "snug fit" jeans by the waist,..in the open position,...then you, get a chair or small step ladder...climb upon a sideboard...LOL...a nd juimp into the opening of the "snug fit"...jeans...simple!....just don,t blame me if both of you land in a tangled heap....lol!
-
lol !! think i will pass !! broken wrist is enough,, don`t need a broken leg too !!
-
Yeah!.... I can hear them in A&E....."and how did you break your leg Madam"....cause i listened to a mad Scotsman!LOL!
-
Beautiful piece! Betting 20's to 30's!

'Smack'!! from the other side of the pond!! >:(
mart, try the old 'teenage' method.........flat on the bed on your back, yank them up a bit at a time and then zip 'em up! I still remember back in the 60's soaking our jeans in the tub to shrink them, then pulling them on and hoping they dried fast so you didn't feel like you were wearing a wet bathing suit for the rest of the day ;)
-
If my memory serves me well, were,nt you supposed to be in the jeans when they were soaking in the bath,
-
Not if you were already busy ironing your hair :D
-
Xjeep, sorry for hi-jacking your thread. I go along with the previous estimates, my first impression was late 20's/early 30's. Construction pics would help confirm. ;)

you,re lucky,...mines went years ago.....still it does have its advantages...i save on shampoo...but having said that...i now find its growing again....in all the wrong places..... :D

Crap, forgot about the pulling up part (was concentrating on the getting them zipped). I'd ask my son in law how he does it, but you'd never catch him in anything quite so form fitting ;)
-
thats ok!! i have a couple of pair that i can wash and wear !!
-
It does have wooden wheels and dove tail joints. I will try to get pics.
