Title: I need help identifying cabinet
Post by: sbrandau on September 02, 2012, 03:43:00 PM
I need help with this cabinet. It is approx 100 years old and it has no markings. Its made out of wood (perhaps pine) but not real sure. It has 30 drawers and the top lifts up for more storage. Any help on how old it is and who mmight have made it would be great. Thanks Shannon

I would guess that it was made by a local cabinetmaker originally to the specifications of a customer needing office storage for legal forms, etc . What are the dimensions?

A Cabinet maker made this, and judging by the herring bone, pattern on the  sides, it does have some age to it,..but as Mart says..take a pic of the inside of the drawers,so that we can determine if the dovetails are hand cut or machine cut...and if its possible a pic of the rear would also help,...as to the name of the person who made it.....without a makers mark....its nigh impossible to say....
