Title: Sugar Bowl? - Does anyone know what this is?
Post by: racingprincess78 on September 07, 2012, 08:16:04 PM
Hi there!  I spent $.25 for this - I am not sure what it is - was wondering if anyone knows what the name of it is - there are no markings on this. I was thinking sugar bowl, or something with tea?

I have attached a picture of it for you to view.

Thank you so much!

I would have to agree.  It is made along the lines of a tea cozy.

I remember our old Woolworth's store serving tea in individual pots with metal cozies but have never seen a sugar bowl with one.......until I googled 'sugar bowl cozy'.  it could be that someone decided that's what they'd call it, because it's the only one that turned up. Or it could be that's what it actually was, but few survived.

BTW, my Woolworth's tea pot memories would have been from the late 50's

Thank you so much - I actually googled it using sugar bowl cozy, and found an entire set -
