Any Advice Information Appreciated!!
My mum was left this silver pocket watch from a old lady.
The watch has the original chain and key.
It has 4 markings on the watch and chain, I can recognise the silver marking.
Also inscribed 5-A-Side 1911.
I have posted four photos ,

what name is on the watch face ?? didn`t enlarge enough to read it !!
-
Hi ,
There is no name on watch face, it has the number 1 then underline then 38504
Thanks.

How is the movement marked?
Apparently the fob must have belonged to a soccer player at one time.

Hi
I guess you mean the inside off the watch? I will check this and add a photo soon (need to visit mum first).
I wondered about the football it all a mystery to me.
Thanks

am i missing a pic ?? i didn`t see a football ??

Not missing a pic, and No Football, Just a guess with the 5 A side. This watch possibly owned by a football/soccer Player.
Sorry for the confusion.

It would help a great deal if you told us where you were...5 A side is a British term for a small football match...normally in the UK...less so in the US.as it is known as soccer there...
"Indoor soccer is an indoor game played primarily in North America, typically with six-a-side teams"......therefore it quite safe to assume that this watch belonged to someone from the UK..and from what little i can see of the hallmark....they look like an English mark...and if they are then knowing from which assay office they came...may help to find from which area this match was played and who the owner was ...

Just curious if you remember the 'old lady's' name.
I came across a bit on the 1911 FA Cup Final and there is a list of players names.

Right track Sapphire....but 12 players too many.....
-
So unlike our football, they are all on the field at the same time?
Well, crap! >:(

Your "Football"....is more like rugby....with helmets on...but Rugby, UK style now that,s a mans game...no shoulder pads, bum pads, jockstraps, ...nowt...just pure muscle...and it does,nt take all night to finish a game.....i don,t think i,ve ever seen a whole Super Bowl..from start to finish....yawn! :D
-
Where I live the young kids play softball and soccer, high school and beyond.....rugby (your style). We used to have a high school football time but it disappeared long ago with the surge in popularity of rugby.
Now back to that watch and 5-a-side. It's driving me crazy that I found a link about 5-a-side with notations under the hit about 1911 and a Cup. But darn it, when I hit the link I just get a whole list of other links and have yet to find the one that speaks about that elusive Cup.

you should try doing it Mart style...like I do, one finger....it takes forever....i only learned to copy & paste 6/7 months ago....before that,i,would,ve been quicker sending a pigeon...now get back to finding that link ,before this rambunctious Hamster..finds it first.... ;D
-
Just to put the cat among the pigeons...there,s also 5 a side rugby....i think we need more info on those hallmarks...and if pos a look at the movement to try and tie down where this watch was made....

My names Wullie...no sullie.....i can read between the lines.... :D..an educated guess....
-
LOL !! I can paint anything I can see,, pretty good horsewoman,,, cook like a southern chef,,raise a heck of a garden,,, I can do a lot of things,,,typing is not one of them !!
-
Well..you are pretty darn impressive on here Mart!!!
Please post a picture of the other side of the fob - (without the 1911 5-a-side on it) Please.
Also on the side that is engraved, there are 3 impressions on the side - can you describe each one? Is this item silver in color or gold?
