I want to advertise these two chairs with upholstered seats and would like an accurate term as to what to call them. I thought of asking $75 for the pair - or is that too much?

Nice chairs...its such a shame that there is,nt a pair...they are from the same set, but, one is a carver which would indicate that there were at least 6 in this set...had you had a matching pair...then they would have looked great in a hall, as it is, these will have to be set apart...as they are at odds with one another...I think you should have no problem getting $75 for both of them...the carver itself is worth that....

Queen Anne style, Victorian !! probably late 20`s !! Captains chair and side chair !! Would probably sell better with a different cover on those seats !! I used to pick up upholstery remnants and when I sold one with a really bad or ugly cover,, i would just throw the fabric in too !! If they liked the fabric and the chairs but didn`t have time to shop for fabric,,, they usually bought the chairs !! All in one package !!

I'd have to go with 1910. Looks like mahogany. They're an armchair and a sidechair from a parlor set. $75.00 is a decent price, though as Mart says the fabric isn't too great :)

Antique Armchairs, about late 20's.. The pair of chairs looks very nice and $75 is worth for it.

A Momentary Lapse...normal service has resumed....

Agree with the Queen Anne style - cabriole legs and carved splat (back center part of chair).
Believe it has been recovered.
Believe it is part of a dining set possibly. In my area would sell for $30 - $45 ea and not much more as a pair - as log as they are sturdy and unmarred.

dining set is what i had in mind too, KC !!

I've got a loveseat with a very similar splat and arms, which was part of a parlor set. However, you're right, the cabriole legs argue for dining room furntiure. Either way, I think we're in the same ballpark for value.

some things we just have to guess at !!
