Title: What's the best way to sell original art (not antique)
Post by: debodun on September 22, 2012, 09:53:00 AM
I have been appointed the administrator of my aunt's estate. She was a local artist and had won awards for her work. There are dozens of framed and unframed oils in her house. What would be the best way to go about liquidating them? (I've asked the family and they are more interested in getting the money from them than taking any off my hands).

If she was known locally,, then a local gallery would be your best bet !!  No matter how good an artist is,,if unlisted selling is difficult !!

Ditto what Mart said. A local gallery will get the best return.
