I love this! All it says on the bottom is Japan. I don't remember if it just says Japan is it pre-war? For some reason I couldn't get a clear bottom I'll try again later if necessary.

I am guessing that 40`s or 50`s would get it !! Can`t put much faith in how the bottom is marked,, they were not strict with it !!

1940s or early 50s for sure. Looks like Norcrest made it in their factory.

I wish I found one exactly like mine. I did okay I think http://www.ebay.com/sch/Collectibles-/1/i.html?_nkw=norcrest&_pgn=6&_skc=250&rt=nc. The from the 50's seem to do okay.

The Napco ones tend to have more vibrant colors. Norcrest and Lefton were more subdued, but something about this one leads me to believe that it came from Norcrest. They may not have put their name on it, but rather allowed another company make some pieces in their factory.
