hi any info on these cant find another set anywhere
ps i think they are gorgeous!
-
individual close ups
-
Don`t think they are bronze !! Look like heavy aluminum !! Bronze would likely have a foundry mark and shelves are not usually made from it !! Get a magnifying glass and look closely for an impressed mark on back side or bottom areas !!
-
ahh says mitchell canada now off to googleland
maybee they are copper ?there seems to be what id call flaking maybee they where bonzed?
-
pic of mark and chipping?
-
and a close up of machining tip of basket shelf looks hand done?
-
Hand done with what?...a drill perhaps!

you can,t help but love this place...what with fogged brains, and finger malfunctions... ;D

yes a drill but without a jig maybee on a table or lap looks like its done after casting very primitive considering all other effort put into piece.
I have emailed the current company on production date cheers

Since tht tip was cut and is same color all the way through,, I would say it is cast aluminum !! May have had a coating of some sort but not likely bronze !!
-
Cast aluminum seems much more likely.
-
Yes and aluminum was quite popular during that era !!
