Can anyone give me any info on this beautiful brooch? I haven't seen any like it with the white background and dark cameo. Most cameos I have seen are white on a colored background. Does anyone know the value or the maker?? Help! I have posted a pic with this post.

the pic didn't come thru -
I'd love to see it - I adore cameos and just bought my first pair of vintage (and real) cameos - I re-set them - meanwhile, check out this site:

I so totally regret that I can't accept pics -
All I can suggest is that you run some googles as vintage cameos - you may very well find your own, but if you love these pieces of art, you will want to buy - - - - -
Values can vary - highest values go to old cameos carved from shell or carnelian, with incredible detail - elaborate hair styles, some set with diamonds, these often don't have "pretty women" - - -
many substances were used - the skill of the carver of course counts first of all - - the setting counts less - some antique cameos were set in other than gold or sterling -
At this point, perhaps a jeweler could help with a value. - best wishes, KB

 due to it's dark' color I suspect it's mourning jewelry.
