judging by the pic and its surrounding...is this approx 10in long,..it does,nt look like bronze,it may be bronze resin...what is the weight, and true dimensions, and is there anywhere,on this piece that you could do a "hot pin"..test,without damaging it...the hot pin...test will tell us if its resin or not...if the pin goes in it is...

hi there thanks for a reply,we have done the hot pin test and its solid as a rock.

i would say its about 7-8cm long,2-3 cm wide

the weight is about 1.2kg or abit heavier, our scales wont take the weight.

yes the bottom is marble

many thanks for your time

its a baby lion...  :D..is the weight inclusive of the base?...the rust mark that i see on the left hand threaded hole, indicates that its not bronze...either that or it has a steel insert that has been threaded...as for value,...anything from £5 /20...

That is a steel insert .......and thus it is probably made of lead.
