Title: Need Help: Robert E Lee CDV 1860's?
Post by: 2x4misc on November 12, 2012, 09:55:58 PM
Hey all -

Back again with two CDVs.  They both are photographs on cardboard. The first card, that I believe is Robert E Lee, has Brady's National Portrait Gallery printed on the backside - I assume that is Matthew Brady but looking for someone to confirm my thoughts.

The other one - I have no idea.  It is cool that it is threaded to a cardboard frame. But, is anyone familiar with Civil War figures?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

- Ray

There are a lot of photos of Robert E. Lee. Most don't seem that valuable. I think elite photos might be military photos during the civil war or as above the daguerreotype. If you read the article this photo is under scrutiny.

Am pretty sure there is not too much value. Just trying to get confirmation the it is Lee - and see if anyone recognizes who the other person is.

Thanks!
