I have found this item in a charity shop for £2.
I think it is an Arab letter opener because of the strange markings
Below are the pictures
Please notify me of any value

Do the Arabs have Rural Free Delivery of their mail? ;D
-
Are you sure it's a letter opener?

I'm pretty sure some have RPGs , but not too sure about RFDs , cogar ! :D
Appears to be more of a knife , v/s a letter-opener .
Images are a bit too difficult to see well , for me @ least .

Yes , should have been clearer here too ....
what I had meant to say ought to have gone something like : even upon magnifying I can't tell the nature of methods used to make the detailing upon this knife , nor any hallmarks , due to the clairity of the images .
I'm also wondering if that handle has a rivet-ish (roll pin ?) connector securing it to its' blade ?
The one posible hope for this item , IMO , would be if it bears any 'hallmarks' that might indicate origin or metal used .
I'm really only guessing that this is a 'tourist' item , dadmumbrill .

origin of the metal..is India or there abouts....as for hallmarks...doubt if there are any at all...they don,t use them much in India....
