Title: African ornament?

Bought this from local thrift store for 1dollar, I think it is ceramic but not positive. It is signed on bottom as you will see in pics.

does,nt look like ceramic,looks more like a type of ironstone....

Possibly , to be honest not sure what ironstone is. Is that good?

well for a start its natural..and not man made...but just in case its something else..like maybe resin..do a hot pin test  to determine if its solid..

It's solid,would be kiln fired,correct. Did the hot pin test.so what do you think?

Is it pretty heavy for its size ??  When I enlarged it,,it appeared to be a simple clay pottery piece and looks hand made !!  One place has a chip that looks like it was coated with something !! Almost metal like !!

It is fairly heavy. Do you think bigwull is correct in being ironstone? Did I do ok for 1 dollar investment?
