Hello, I was wondering if I could have some assistance identifying and possibly valuing, what I assume is some sort of Golden Violin Pillbox.
I purchased it for $20 at a swap meet in Melbourne, Australia. I'm not even entirely sure if it is an antique.
The Violin alone is 20cm tall and 1cm thick, the Violin weighs 100g and the Violin and the cradle weigh 150g.
Attached are a selection of photos detailing the pillbox and it's cradle. Sorry for the bad quality as they were taken with my phone.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks very much.

Also it forgot to mention it contains no company markings.

your pics open up ok...as you paid a relatively low price for it...is there anywhere, where you could take a scraping..to determine if its the same colour underneath...just because there are no marks..does,nt mean its not what you,re hoping it is...the expensive yellow metal...its most likely an asian piece...

Not an antique. I'd say it's from the "Elvis Era," ca. 1977. :)

These are called trinket boxes. Search "violin trinket box" and you will see alot like yours show up! Average price $35.
These trinket boxes in all shapes and sizes had been the rage from 1990's to 2009. They are still popular but their popularity is slowing down greatly.
