I am getting my first bad feedback here shortly. I sent out an item and it was in perfect working order and looked good before I mailed. I tried it out before I put in the box. Well, I get a message from this person claiming that it was smashed to pieces on the inside and was not even in working condition. Makes me sick because I would never send a mutalated item out. They claim I did it because the package was fine. There was no way it was in little pieces on the inside of that little hard plastic item. I will tell you my bad luck just keeps piling up. I offered to give their money back plus what they pay for shipping it back to me. I already refunded shipping because it took 3 extra days or so to leave our post office. So I imagine now he will have to smash the insides to mail back to me. Makes me so mad! It was working just fine. Like I said I used it to make sure before I put in the box. I have half a mind to just go ahead and give the money back w/o him mailing it back & really tell him what I think. I am not a mean person at all but I am already stressed enough, not alone someone blaintly lie to me like that.

Hi you are not alone...the same thing happened to me last year...i took great care in packing the item...i took pics of it in the box..i insured it...i did everything right..the buyer received it then complained that it had arrived broken..i asked him to send me pics of the damage and pics of the box...He said he,d thrown the box out...i told him to send the item back to me and i,d refund his money...5 days later he reported me to ebay..for not refunding his money.. i told them i had,nt received the item..yet..they said he,d sent me a tracking number..and that was proof..so they refunded him..2 days after i received the tracking number..and when i checked ..it had been delivered ..to an address...similar to mine...22 miles away...when i contacted the buyer to tell him..his reply was...LOL...i complained to ebay....waste of time...my advice to you is..contact ebay..tell them you will refund the money after you receive the goods back..but make him pay the postage...because either way your damned...as for me..with the P***k i had to deal with...well suffice to say..i had the last laugh....but i can,t tell you how i went about it....good luck...

I think that he will report me for sure. He just seems like the type. That is good advice and I will contact eBay about that. Hopefully he doesn't report me.

As I said above..make him pay the postage..to send your item back..it is his responsability..the n you can refund him his money...afterwards. .if he leaves neg..feedback....yo u do the same...in this kind of situation..you just have to get on with it....because after all...you and everyone else you know,..knows you are a good person...and he is just a plonker....

How many feedback did the person have,, did you read what others said about him/her !! Best advice I can give,, read feedback,, it tells a lot about the buyer !! Don`t leave feedback till the buyer does !! Then you can reciprocate if he gets nasty !!

Thanks BigWull and Mart for the advice. I will have to check his feed back. I assume most people left feedback before he complained. He is just now mailing it back. He emailed me today. Well seeing as though that item is rubber, it couldn't be damaged and it was well packed. I mean I am not an idiot and didn't take it apart and smash the inside (you'd have to really work at taking apart), like he claims. I emailed him back this morning and said I would be going out of state for a dr appt and will refund when I get back. I said that I too am sorry it didn't work out seeing as though me, my son, & my husband saw that it worked before mailing. I already checked it but my husband wanted to see what it did so I showed him. So after this person messaged me this morning I got upset all over again.

I had to get back on here and post again on this. It is now February 7th and I have yet to get that item back. The person is probably trying to figure out on how to take it apart and smash the inside guts of the item. They pretty much said they would send it back when they got around to it. I can't believe it has taken so long - over 2 months! I let them know I would be out of town, so I would then refund when I recieve it after I get back. Maybe it will take me a few months, lol. No...I can't do that, because then I will probably get banned from ebay. My husband said, that maybe that person was just trying to get a refund w/o sending it back. I said I needed it back and then I would refund the money.
The buyer said that there was no shipping damage. That the package was in perfect condition. I still think that the only way it could possibly be damaged would not be from me. I think I might have left the batteries in and if it started moving about in the package...maybe the post office opened it and did that. I really would think they would put something on the package about damage though. Otherwise it was in perfect condition and perfect working order when I put it in the box.

I would email him and ask if he has decided to keep it !! Do you have a time limit on your returns and refunds ?? Generally after a certain time has gone by,, I would say his request is terminated !! Did he ever leave that neg. feedback ??

People suck. Not all of them of course, but so many of them just suck. I have received four bad feedback in the last year. Two were from a guy that chose the 'Local Pickup' option when he was two time zones away. I asked him about it, and he called me liar and to prove he hadn't paid shipping. I refunded his money and I got two negative feedback for my troubles. Another one was a German who bought a movie script from me. Wanted me to lie on the customs form about the value, and then it was later lost in the mail. After contacting the German postal service, and the United States one, it was deemed "lost" and "sorry about that". That cost me $300 when I refunded the money and I got a negative feedback anyways.
My favorite one was when I sold a vintage thirty year old Madame Alexander doll to a woman who later gave it to her three year old gradndaughter. The doll was a flower girl and so was the granddaughter for a wedding. Well, the three year old broke it and started crying and "ruining the wedding" apparently. I got a negative for that.
As of today, I've received 652 feedback in the last year. 648 good, and 4 negative. eBay still treats like a criminal every time I call them about something like that., and I gave them over $3K last year in fees.

First one,, how did you get two negs on one sale ??
-
I was a little vague. Two different auctions, same buyer.
-
Oh !!! Guess I am lucky,, haven`t had a major problem yet !!
-
My average yearly transactions are around 700 or so. You're bound to have a problem once in a while with that many different people involved.
-
Yes !! Still,, not a bad average !! Hey got a question you may know the answer to !! Can you list from different computers,, different locations,, and have payment go into same paypal account ?? Thought I might help my daughter build her business up but don`t know the rules on that one !!
-
As far as I know you can. I use PayPal with two different eBay accounts and I don't seem to have a problem.
-
Good !! I thought you should be able too since I am sure a lot of the big sellers are not working alone !! Thanks R&RR !!
-
You are quite welcome. Just don't bid on each other's auctions. That could get you i trouble. ;)
-
Oh No !! That much I know !!

I meant to get back on here and post again. Thanks for the responses. Yeh, still never heard back and the last I knew that he was going to mail it back. I don't have a limit on days for the returns because I put no returns on there, but as we all know it is pointless to put no returns accepted, when ebay makes you take returns/do refunds anyway. I would think after all this time, that I wouldn't have to refund.
I would be shocked if he returned it another 2 months down the road just to make me mad.
R&R I can't believe that that lady left you a bad feedback for her grand daughter breaking that doll. Yet, on the other hand it doesn't surprise me though. I have seen people leave negatives on several things they bought from different people like that is all they do is leave bad feedback. Some people just like to complain. I believe that some like to get something for nothing too (scamming with trying to get us to refund and they never return it). I was going to put a few things on my husband's account but I think he is afraid of someone trying to do that with the negative. He has a perfect score so far and has always sold reproduction arrowheads on there that he made himself (he is around 1050).
That guy who never returned the item hasn't left me feedback yet (although I haven't looked lately).

Its sometimes a good thing to read bidders feedback !! You don`t have to accept a bid I don`t think !!
-
I don't see anything bad but then again a lot if people who sell leave feedback awful quick after paying. I've had some who I've bought from who leave it as soon as I pay (bad idea on their part). I forgot to read what he left for others. I will have to do that.
