Title: carved box
Post by: eclipse007 on December 19, 2012, 06:08:21 PM
Can anyone identify this box.  It's approx. 5" X 4.5" X 2.5" and carved in relief. It has a hinged lid and the body is hinged which  ???opens to 3 sections.  It has no markings. It's made of a hardwood but I'm not sure what type.

Two thoughts come to mind:

1)  An old game from the 1940's, kind of like a mini version of what we have today called Battleship!

2)  Calligraphy box
