Well, its seen better days, thats for sure....This is what we,over here call Rose Gold...some may call it copper gold...without seeing a clearer pic of the mark...there,s not a lot i can say...age wise..late 1800.s early 1900...value..in this condition...most likely scrap value..which depending on ct...and grams...could be quite high..
-
hi and thanks what is rose gold ? and does the bird hallmark indicate that rose gold
-
The "bird" mark...is unknown to me...in general..there should be a hallmark..that denotes as to what ct it is...but this may have been worn off...or this ring could have been made outwith the civilized world..
Rose gold is a gold and copper alloy widely used for specialized jewelry. It is also known as pink gold and red gold. As it was popular in Russia at the beginning of the nineteenth century, it is also known as Russian gold, but this term is now obsolete.
Although the names are often used interchangeably, the difference between red, rose, and pink gold is the copper content – the higher the copper content, the stronger the red coloration. A common alloy for rose gold is 75% gold and 25% copper by mass (18 karat). Since rose gold is an alloy, there is no such thing as "pure rose gold"

ty so your saying this is 18k correct ? ty again
-
Rose Gold by definition...can be 9ct...or 18ct...if the hallmark has worn off..then there is a very good chance that this ring may be 18ct...because 18ct..does not wear as well as 9ct...as it is softer...

can you describe the bird for us...The Egyptians use a Bird as a hallmark for gold...is the bird standing..or flying...Old French Gold can also carry a bird...and also Austro/Hungarian...the Egyptian is an egret or ibis..type bird...the French and Austro..an eagle....so we really need a good description...befor e we can make any further comment...
