I have looked in all my books and the internet. The only thing I found was that it could be "Castor Oil" or "Almond Oil", which I can't see because it would be to hard to get out. I see something about medical syringes also. I can seem to find anything else. I'm guessing it's a mecidicne bottle. The name is Monticelli not Monticello.

what makes you think Castor/Almond oil ..would be hard to extract...the neck is wide enough....
-
Yes, I agree. I was reading a document on line about him bottling that type of item. I don't think it went in this type of bottle because of the neck. It was found in South Phila.

Whats wrong with the neck ?? Looks similar to all castor oil bottles I have had !! If you can pour it out,, its big enough !!
-
I thought it would be to thick of a substance. Mart I didn't know you were that old, lol. The bottle dates to about 1888-1910. ;D
-
Think Olive oil...then castor....the only difference is the taste...and what one does for your bowels...but they both pour the same.... ;D

LOL !! I am not that old but used to collect bottles !! That was a popular cure-all !! Like Dr W.B Caldwells Cod Liver Oil with Lime and Soda !! At least I think thats what it was,, Had an embossed pic of a man with a huge fish over his shoulder !! Evidently cod are good sized fish !! Wish I still had that bottle !!
