Post by: amiga on January 03, 2013, 11:40:49 PM

This looks like one of those portraits of royalty. Maybe we can find this by searching for queens, countesses etc?

Amiga, I am pretty sure it is a post-1970 "Collector" plate made specifically for "display" purposes given the "holes" in the rim on the backside. Betcha those "holes" are directly opposite the woman's head.

HA, t'wasn't really a lucky guess, ..... I can look up to my right toward the ceiling at the narrow shelf I built for the wifey and put across the end-of-room on which now sits 15 plates of various sizes .. on their edges .... 9 of which are those Collector plates she took a fancy for several years ago and order 1 every time a "new" one was advertised.

There is one made by Homer Laughlin who made the "blanks", but decorated by Sabin China Co. .... with a 1 1/4" wide 22K gold band around the edge and a Victorian picture of a man, woman and teen boy in it center. (And she put it back up before I got the pattern # keyed in) :( :(
