It is me a 3rd time (catching up for lost time, ha ha, that is why 3 posts in the last 2 days).
Normally I post mainly for myself, because my husband has yet to create an account, I am posting for him too. He bought his Heavy Brass Pig Bank at an Antique Store. They had a piece of paper with it that had the history and what it was worth, only he left it there!!
So anyway, this pig is very heavy made of brass. It is not like the other pigs we looked up (we tried to find out where they found that information at, but could not locate it). This pig has the straight up pointy ears and the tail is not curly like the others. He measures 20 inches long and 11 inches high. When we bought this they told us there was an auctioneer who was thinking about buying this after his auction was over, but we bought in the meantime, which makes us think it is good. We got what we feel is a great deal at $50.00 for it (I love pigs). Do you have any information that might help us because we are unable to find the information they had there with it? There are no markings on this pig.
Thank you so much!

Brings to mind that Hans Christian Andersen story about "The Metal Pig" and the little boy.
(We've got a cast iron pig about the same size, that has been sitting outside for the last 20 years. Tomorrow, I'll have to look and see how they compare in features.)

..That,s like Avril...she won,t eat Venison...because she saw Bambi..and she won,t eat Rabbit...because of Myxomatosis....and she went right off Arbroath Smokies...when a bone got stuck in her thrapple...You,d better google this.... ;D

I understand that. I won't eat venison either. I love deer (not just bc of Bambi) but I used to live in the country for awhile and I would see them a lot in my yard & thought they were such a beautiful animal. :)
